1?? Introduction

The Course Reserve & Customized Reports module in Easylib is designed to help institutions systematically manage, organize, and monitor course-specific learning resources that are required by students for a particular course, grade, semester, or subject.

This module is primarily used by libraries, academic administrators, and faculty members to ensure that essential learning materials—such as books, audio resources, and other library items—are clearly identified, reserved, and made accessible to the right group of students at the right time.

The Course Reserve process works on a header–line structure:

  1. The Course Reserve Header defines what the reserve list is (purpose, course, grade, subject, ownership, and access level).
  2. The Course Reserve Lines define which resources are included in that reserve list.

In addition to managing reserve lists, the module also provides powerful reporting capabilities through Customized Reports and Customized Search Reports, allowing institutions to:

  1. Track active and inactive reserve lists
  2. Review resource allocation across courses and semesters
  3. Support audits, academic planning, and accreditation requirements

By using this module, institutions can:

  1. Standardize reading and reference materials across courses
  2. Improve coordination between faculty and libraries
  3. Reduce confusion about required vs. optional resources
  4. Ensure transparency and accountability in resource usage

Overall, the Course Reserve & Customized Reports module plays a critical role in academic resource planning, library operations, and student learning support, making it an essential component of the Easylib ecosystem.

2?? Course Reserve – Overview

The Course Reserve module consists of:

  1. Course Reserve Header – Defines the reserve list (what the list is about)
  2. Course Reserve Lines – Defines the actual items/resources in the list
  3. Customized Reports – Reporting and tracking of reserve lists

3?? Course Reserve Header

The Course Reserve Header is the master record of the Course Reserve module.

It defines why a reserve list exists, who it is for, and who manages it.

Each Course Reserve Header represents one complete reserve list created for a:

  1. Course
  2. Grade / Semester
  3. Subject
  4. Academic purposes (Orientation, Core Reading, Exam Preparation, etc.)

?? No resource can be reserved unless a Course Reserve Header is created first.

The Course Reserve Header is used to:

  1. Define course-specific learning requirements
  2. Group required and recommended learning materials
  3. Control access level (Public / Private)
  4. Assign ownership and accountability
  5. Link reserve lists to institute, library, course, grade, and subject

It acts as a container that holds multiple Course Reserve Lines (books, audio, etc.).
